Sanuk BJJ Academy follows the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Graduation System and Guidelines. All Gradings & Promotion Ceremonies will take place at the academy approximately 2- 4 times per year.
Belt Promotions
Will usually be done at a special event (Grading Day). All members are required to wear WHITE only uniforms with Sanuk BJJ patches & logos for team photos. Students being awarded a new coloured belt will be assessed on- IBJJF time-frames, skill level, competition records, teaching ability and attendance.
Stripe Promotions
Will be usually awarded throughout the year in a less formal manner, usually at a regular class. Students being awarded new stripe promotions will be assessed on- progression, attendance, training frequency and effort.
Note
Only Sanuk Academy members will be assessed for promotions/gradings.
